FOREST CITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
The Foundation
About the Forest City
United Methodist Church Foundation
Our Foundation was organized in 1992 by a committee of forward-thinking members with the encouragement of the Administrative Council. The Foundation is managed by a nine member board, selected by the Nominations Committee and elected at the annual Charge/Church Conference in accordance with the Discipline of the United Methodist Church.
All gifts to the Foundation will be prudently managed by the Foundation’s directors.
Distributions of investment earnings to church projects will be recommended by the
Foundation’s Board of Directors. The final
approval of such distributions will be made by the Administrative Council/Church Conference.

The Forest City United Methodist Church Foundation was formed to help finance our congregation’s efforts. Gifts to the Foundation constitute a perpetual fund from which only the interest earnings will be used to further the ministries of the Forest City United
Methodist Church and to care for its physical plant. Since 2000, the Foundation has
provided over $176,188.00 for projects such as:
-
New windows for the church
-
Replaced 2 boilers
-
Replaced main entrance door and three outside church doors
-
New security system
-
Remodel men’s bathroom
-
New sound system
-
Hearing aid loop
-
Parsonage landscaping
-
New computers and updates
-
New electrical panel in sanctuary
In addition, the scholarship arm of the
Foundation has dispersed over $59,000.00
in scholarships and helped pay for
confirmation camp.
Through prudent investments and, more
importantly, through charitable contributions, the Foundation will continue to grow and thus provide more financial support every year for the betterment of our church.
Thank you for your support.

Vision
Using God’s Blessings
to Grace Future Generations
Our church has a rich heritage. Methodist
services were first held in Forest City in 1858, just three years after the city was founded.
In its many incarnations since then as the Methodist Episcopal Church Society, the
Norwegian Methodist Church, the First
American Methodist Episcopal Church, and now the Forest City United Methodist Church - our congregation has offered its prayers, presence, gifts, and service. Our goal is that all may know the creating, redeeming, and sanctifying grace of God through Jesus Christ.
